Brooklyn Showdown: Colorado Buffaloes vs. Miami Hurricanes in NABC Showcase

This Sunday, November 10th, the Colorado Buffaloes travel to Brooklyn to take on the #15 ranked Miami Hurricanes in the NABC Brooklyn showcase.  Colorado is coming off of a nice bounce-back win over Pepperdine following their loss to Colorado State, to improve to 6-2 on the season.  The Buffs are led by Tristan Da Silva, who is averaging 15.5 ppg on the season, and have solid depth all across the floor.

Miami are fresh off of a 97-49 drubbing of LIU, sitting at 7-1 and the number 15 ranked team in the nation, averaging 84.6 ppg this year.  Wooga Poplar is the leader of this Hurricanes team, averaging 16.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season. These two schools have only faced each other once before, with the Buffs winning the lone matchup in 1957.  The Hurricanes have shown their effectiveness when shooting this season, sitting at 51.3% from the field, putting them at 14th in the nation.  This Miami team is even more impressive when shooting from beyond the arc, hitting on 42.5% of their threes, which has them sitting at 2nd in the nation in that category.

The Buffaloes are not far behind in terms of beyond the arc efficiency, hitting on 41.8% of their threes, 4th in the nation from outside the three point line.  Both of these teams play extremely efficient offense and have slightly above average scoring defenses, and this game has the looks of a high scoring affair on both ends of the court.  Miami has the edge over Colorado in terms of experience, and they draw on their maturity across the court to help them compete in tight games.

If the Buffaloes are to win this game, a key factor will be disrupting the rotation of veteran players that the Hurricanes have, to slow down their high powered offense.  This is a game that neither team will have a home field advantage in, and looks to be a high scoring affair between the two historic schools.  Look for the Buffs to keep an efficient offense running, while the Hurricanes take shots and try to outmaneuver another high powered team. The game will be televised at 12 pm MTN on ESPN 2 and the ESPN app.
